Course Description

Introduction to Sustainable Health Systems  is an online course for anyone who works in the Canadian health system. The course will introduce you to the relationship between climate change, health, and health systems; familiarize you with the concept of sustainable health systems; and get you thinking about how you might incorporate climate action and sustainability into your work.  

This course features: 

  • Five self-paced modules 
  • Short knowledge checks  
  • Interactive content that applies an interdisciplinary lens

On the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada website, you will be prompted to sign in with an existing RCID or to request a new one.

The Introduction to Sustainable Health Systems Online Course was originally created by CASACDES; the current version was co-developed with the Royal College and the Scientific Planning Committee to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity, and balance.

CPD Information

This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Royal College Learning and Practice Improvement Unit. You may claim a maximum of 1.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

College of Family Physicians of Canada members may claim certified credits through the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada Maintenance of Certification program: accredited Section 1 and Section 3 credits are eligible for certified credits, up to a maximum of 50 credits per five-year cycle. Any additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits.
