Infection control practices such as disposable surgical caps, MRSA gowning, and wiping the rubber stopper on a medical vial are often passed from attendings to residents through example and institutional traditions. This presentation, given by Dr. Hui Yu (Betty) Zhang, will review best practices by professional associations and appraise the literature supporting common infection control practices.
Dr. Zhang is a PGY6 Pain Medicine Resident at McMaster University and completed her Anesthesiology residency at the University of Manitoba. She has a passion for challenging practice norms and thinking critically about how we can more safely, efficiently, ethically, and sustainably deliver anesthetic care. Her interests include resident advocacy and medical leadership and she previously served as the Vice President of the Professional Association of Residents and Interns of Manitoba (PARIM).
This webinar is hosted by the Ontario’s Anesthesiologists Environmental Sustainability Working Group in collaboration with CASCADES and IPAC Canada.
The Certification Board of Infection Control will provide 1 IPU per teaching hour.
