Healthcare care systems have a duty to protect human health. Opportunities to address the climate crisis and move toward sustainable healthcare play an important part in fulfilling this mandate. By educating and supporting staff to become climate champions, organizations can advance this goal within their establishments, within their communities and across Canada.

BC Cancer’s Planetary Health Nursing Internship program, the first program of its kind for nurses in Canada, provides an example for how health care professionals (nurses in this case) can work together and build capacity to be change agents.

In this panel, organized by BC Cancer Planetary Health Nursing Internship, with support from PHSA, CANE, Providence Health Care, and CASCADES, our panelists and moderator will come together to discuss the movement-building needed to solve our global environmental crises.

Join us while we discuss how transdisciplinarity in our workplaces and academia can help us find solutions beyond the limitations of our own professions, and how we can effectively share a vision for a sustainable future for future generations through inclusivity and hope.
