Land acknowledgement

CASCADES operates from coast to coast and brings together individuals living and working on many different lands, which are the traditional territories of many different First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples. Canadian healthcare systems are built on the traditional territories of more than 630 Indigenous communities, each with their own distinct languages, laws, lifeways, cultural practices, and protocols.

In particular, members of CASCADES’ staff are situated on Musqueam, Squamish & Tsleil-Waututh Traditional Territory; on the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit; on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations; and in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq.
